Soon my hands adjusted to the heat, and my ears to the racket. Maybe that’s one reason I don’t hear as well.
As our society is daily bombarded with increasing profanity, violence, and sensual entertainment, have we become desensitized?
Gradual exposure by degrees is one of Satan’s most effective ploys (1 Corinthians 15:33).
Refusing to lower our standards
For all his faults, at least Lot was “oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men ….tormented day after day with their lawless deeds” (2 Peter 2:7-8).
He never acclimated. Have we?
