Hope in the Place of Despair

About 30 years ago we planted a pecan tree in our front yard. When it apparently died, I cut it off even with the ground. But later it sprouted! Now it is some 20 feet tall. It was not as far gone as I had thought.

Life is sometimes like that. That’s why we must never give up! Who knows what good things may come if we’ll hold on awhile longer?

When life seems hopeless, let’s remember that God brings good out of evil for those who trust and obey Him (Romans 8:28, 31-39; 2 Corinthians 1:8-10). He is called “the God of hope” for good reason (Romans 15:13).
