In ______ We Trust

Don’t count on it!

The Bible warns:

  • Don’t put ultimate confidence in people (Psalm 146:3-5). People have limits. They disappoint. They die.
  • Don’t hang your hopes on things (Matthew 6:19-21). The volatile stock market bears powerful witness to “the uncertainty of riches” (1 Timothy 6:17 NASB).
  • Don’t bank on tomorrow (James 4:13-16). We have no guarantee of another sunrise. What then?
  • Don’t rely on yourself. Our own “goodness” cannot get us to heaven (Luke 18:9-14; Titus 3:5).

Our Ultimate Trust

Some want “In God We Trust” removed from our currency. It’s one thing to pay lip service to God, but quite another to place all our confidence in Him alone.

Many people are leaning on what will ultimately give way. But God never fails.
