Alone Time

The issue of distractions

It was a relief to find the waiting room TV off. I could then read my book without distraction.

A few minutes later, on came the TV. Perhaps the receptionist had a remote.

Maintaining the lifeline

When Jesus walked the earth, He didn’t have to contend with blaring TVs or cell phones going off as He preached.

But He did have plenty of interruptions. To maintain His vibrant connection with His Father, He had to make it happen.

“In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there” (Mark 1:35).

Getting away from it all was a spiritual lifesaver. He had to have time with His Father!

And so do we.
