Why did you choose to be born? Why did you pick the time and place of your birth?
Ridiculous questions, aren’t they?
Yet there is someone for whom these questions apply.
Unlike us, Jesus existed before conception (John 1:1, 14). He made a conscious decision to become human. But why?
We must never take for granted His humanness. How awesome that: 1) the Son of God could become Son of Man, and 2) that He would even want to!
He “emptied Himself . . . being made in the likeness of men” (Philippians 2:7).
Before conception He was incapable of death. He took on mortality. But why?
He chose to die so we might live (Hebrews 2:14-15; 1 John 3:16).
