Making a Positive Difference

Sorely missed

“Then Jeremiah chanted a lament for Josiah . . .” (2 Chronicles 35:25). Josiah “pled the cause of the afflicted and needy” (Jeremiah 22:15). He urged his wayward nation to turn back to God (2 Chronicles 34-35). Josiah made a difference.

When Stephen was martyred, those who buried him “made loud lamentation over him” (Acts 8:2). He had served the poor widows and had stood boldly for the truth (Acts 6-7). Stephen made a difference.

When Dorcas died, the widows wept. They recalled her “deeds of kindness and charity which she continually did” (Acts 9:36). Dorcas made a difference.

Josiah, Stephen, Dorcas

When we give of ourselves as they did, it will cost us.

But oh, what a legacy we leave!
