There is a place for doctors.
One of Paul’s valued coworkers was “Luke, the beloved physician” (Colossians 4:14).
Jesus Himself said, “It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick” (Luke 5:31).
Doctors and medicine are gifts from God.
A balanced perspective
The wise doctor realizes the limits of medical technology, while also acknowledging God as the greater Healer.
Let’s avoid Asa’s mistake: “His disease was severe, yet even in his disease he did not seek the LORD but the physicians” (2 Chronicles 16:12).
God never promised good health. He may be pleased to grant it.
But if not, let us realize that pain too may have its place (2 Corinthians 12:7-10).
Physical health is a wonderful blessing, but spiritual health far more so (3 John 2-3).
